On April 18–19, 2020, Gabriel Wortman committed multiple shootings and set fires at 16 locations in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, killing 22 people and injuring three others before he was shot and killed by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in Enfield.
He was dressed as an RCMP officer (in legit uniform) and driving an RCMP vehicle (exact replica car).
It has come to light that he withdrew $475 000 on March 30th. The money came from CIBC Intria, a subsidiary of the chartered bank that handles currency transactions. Basically, Intria handles funds that are made available for operations by the RCMP. They use this secure transaction for undercover work, CI's and 'agents'. CI's would only ever be paid maybe 200-300$. Dude was def an agent. They do it this way because nobody wants their identity known when they are a CI or an 'agent'. So they do not use regular bank locations.
Someone in the RCMP would have to authorize the funds to be released by Intria, then the person who goes to withdraw the funds would have to prove their identity to walk out with the cash. In this case, this happened, but he had to pick up the funds at a secure brinks location close by because of the amount involved. I couldn't go to Intria and withdraw funds. That part of the bank ops as far as the police are concerned are for buys, lures etc.
This is very creepy. The RCMP have some explaining to do.
