Former Irish Supreme Court judge Catherine McGuinness
on her personal knowledge of Irish 1970's-1980's adoption practices.

These human rights violations were sanctioned by law and used during
social incarceration for the purpose of coercing mothers to relinquish
their children.

Was this Freely-Given Adoption Consent?
Or was this Coercion?

What do you think? First, read on below...
.

Wikipedia says: Coercion is the practice of forcing another party to act in
an involuntary manner by use of intimidation or threats or some other
form of pressure or force.

In psychological coercion, ... "emotional blackmail", involves threats of
rejection or disapproval by a peer-group, or creating feelings of guilt/
obligation via a display of anger or hurt by someone whom the victim
loves or respects. Another example is coercive persuasion.

The purpose of coercion is to substitute one's aims to those of the victim.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coercion

In her 2004 book, Brainwashing: The Science of Thought Control,
neuroscientist and physiologist Kathleen Taylor .... argues that people in
their teenage years and early twenties are more susceptible to persuasion.
[73-76]

In his 2007 book, Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion, social
psychologist Robert Cialdini argues that mind control is possible through
the covert exploitation of the unconscious rules that underlie and facilitate
healthy human social interactions. He states that common social rules can
be used to prey upon the unwary. [77]

The battle about the State's ongoing cover-up
of forced adoption practices is now heating up.

Kathy got to do her very first
TV spot on it
a few days ago.

Handled it like a pro:

Call For Empowerment Of Grassroots Adoption Groups

News Anchor Alison Comyn, Senator Averil Power
and Kathy McMahon, founder of Irish First Mothers.
Ireland Live at 10 on Thursday 22 July, 2015.

Discussing sketchy details of a proposed Adoption Information Bill.

Alison Comyn: "Kathy McMahon, you have some
reservations [about the proposed Bill]. What are they?"

Kathy McMahon: "As far as we are concerned our children should be given rights of access to their birth information.

"One of the things that concerns me is the fact that adopted people are going to be asked to sign a guarantee that they won't harass or invade on their parents privacy. But, you know, to be an adopted person isn't a communicable disease.

Image "And us mothers don't need protection from our children. At the moment reunions are going on all the time - without any bureaucracy involved.

"So the existing groups that are working on the issue, like Irish First Mothers and the Adoption Rights Alliance should be funded and empowered to continue the work that we are doing - instead of handing it over to social workers, from whom many of the mothers would shy away.

"What we need to be working on is re-connection and reconciliation. We don't need to be causing any further division. The majority of birth mothers -and there's 56 mothers in our group- want contact with their children at some level.

Alison Comyn: "And Kathy, do you think there's enough counselling services in place?"

Kathy McMahon: "I do believe there needs to be extra counselling provided. Because there isn't enough. What was offered last year when the 'Tuam Babies' issue arose, was a phone counselling service which was totally inadequate.

Call for Adoption Bill to provide children
with full access to their identity

Sunday 26 July 2015 18.06

Philomena Lee has welcomed the Government's proposed Adoption Bill provided it allows adopted children full access to their identity.

Ms Lee whose devotion to finding her adopted son inspired Hollywood film "Philomena" was speaking at an event at Ross Abbey in Roscrea.

The event was a commemoration of all the woman and children who stayed at Sean Ross Abbey.

The 82-year-old grandmother said Ireland needs to move to a more open adoption system similar to the UK.

She said: "Of course I would welcome change. I don't see why the rest of the world is not like the UK."

Ms Lee said "It's not about bothering people that don't want to be bothered it's about getting your identity and you would welcome that change."

"It's about identity but it's also a genetic entitlement." She said.

Ms Lee lives in St Alban's in the UK was at the event with her daughter Jane Libberton who during her research discovered her brother Anthony's headstone at the abbey.

"I think most people who were adopted are very sensitive. If I went looking for my mother and she didn't want to know me I would understand that and I would accept that but at least I would know who I was and there may be aunts and uncles and brothers and sisters who do want to know," said Ms Libberton.

The Adoption Rights Alliance Susan Lohan said Ms Lee's story sets a "wonderful example for everybody in the country who would have us believe that natural parents do not want contact with their parents or that their parents do no want contact with them".

She said: "There are people in Leinster House who would have us believe that natural mothers do not want contact with the children that they lost to adoption, that they are somehow afraid of those children."

Ms Lohan said the leaked details of the the Government's Adoption Bill, which is due to be published soon, "does not give us much hope"

"It seems they are continuing to want us to believe that natural mothers are afraid of their children and don't want any contact.

Phil's story and Anthony's story make an absolute lie of that and we must always have that at the forefront of our minds," Ms Lohan added.

After a minute's silence 100 white balloons representing the "innocence and loss" of all the children who were born and died in Sean Ross Abbey were released into the air by over 100 people gathered for the ceremony organised by Mary Lawlor.

Among those in attendance were Fintan Dunne and Kathy McMahon of the First Mothers group who strongly urged the Government not to include any contact veto in the proposed Adoption Bill.

"We should be aiming to encourage re-connection and eventual reconciliation that's the psychologically healthy outcome for all concerned and should be our primary public health goal," said Mr Dunne.

"We cannot allow a narrow legislative approach to inform us. Any introduction of a contact veto would create an impression that birth mothers need to be afraid of this adopted person coming. This is the whole impression that is being created and fostered by even saying such a word," he said.

Senior Social worker with the child and family agency TUSLA Sandra Merity, urged anyone seeking records about Sean Ross Abbey to contact the adoption agency in Waterford that holds the registrar for the notorious mother and babies home.

"Cleary the history we hold in our offices contains the many traumatic stories of thousands women and babies and we want to get the message out that we can be contacted and that we will try to help people who want to get in touch with family."

In a moving address Ms Lee described the moment her "darling sweet son Anthony" was taken from her one week before Christmas in 1952 when he was aged three and a half.

"I cried for days but I was told to "stop my nonsense" and that I should be grateful he was gone to a good Catholic home in America. That is all I knew for 50 years..."

Anthony was adopted from Sean Ross Abbey by a wealthy Missouri couple in the US and became a top lawyer, eventually working with President Ronald Reagan.

However, Anthony who worked under his adopted surname of Hess, became sick in the 1990s and travelled back to Ireland in a desperate bid to trace his birth mother before he died.

However, the nuns not only refused to give him information about his mother but led him to believe she had deliberately abandoned him at two weeks old.

"The sad part is that he came home three times looking for me and each time they said no she abandoned you at two weeks ... So he died thinking I had abandoned him that's the sad part," explained Ms Lee.

**STATUTORY NOTES:

**No storks were harmed in the making of this self-congratulatory scenario.

**Any natural mothers air brushed out of this story were
safely disposed of in an approved birth mother recycling facility.

**Believe it or not - most of this shit happened!

**Touching stories are profitable for media corporations but may
contain 100% actual horse shit.

**True Christians help mothers rather than railroad them
into yielding their infants to for-profit "consultants" to well-heeled couples.

**Surrendering a child to adoption may cause mothers a life-long trauma.

**Being surrendered to adoption may cause children a life-long trauma.

ADOPTING COUPLE'S NEW BABY DELIVERED BY MIRACLE STORK
by Fintan Dunne, 30 July, 2015

In a world-first, a Minnesota couple are now celebrating the arrival of a new-born baby girl --which came via a miraculous delivery by stork!

The couple, Sarah and David Olson already had two children - but had been battling a harrowing secret ordeal. They always knew they wanted three children, but they lacked that third infant which would make their family "complete".

The Olsens had been trying in vain to conceive for what must have seemed an interminable eight long months before eventually deciding to adopt while aboard Sarah's birthday gift flight to New York.

That decision was partly inspired by Sarah's sister - who had already taken delivery of a child she had ordered online via Amazon.com in an inter-country adoption from China.

But Sarah and David could hardly believe what happened next. After months of waiting, one Tuesday their Christian adoption consultant phoned to advise them that a truly miraculous birth had just taken place.

Normally, human babies require a human mother, but the consultant's exciting news was that an actual stork had just delivered a new-born baby to a Florida medical facility. And all they had to do to claim the new infant was simply show up.

Image

"Are you ready for a miracle?" their adoption consultant said. "We have a stork drop situation and if you say yes, this is your daughter!”

But their long battle to complete family-hood was not yet over. Their plane journey from Minnesota to Tallahassee took nearly 14 hours - due to flight delays. That final hurdle must have taxed their Christian faith, but even then their waiting wasn't over.

"We walked into the room expecting to meet our baby, but it was empty. The charge nurse was busy and couldn’t bring her down yet. Another wait. Those 20 minutes may have been hours," David told ABC News.

However, as the syndicated photo shoot of their eventual meeting with the new baby shows, it turned out well in the end for everybody who was well off. And the Olsens' Christianity seems now even deeper - if that's possible.

Image

They later sent a heartfelt message to ABC News. "Thank you to the adoptive parents that sacrifice to bring children home into their forever families," they wrote with typical Christian modesty.

In the Olsens case, the sacrifice cost them dearly : the months of repeated conception attempts; the Christian consultant's fees; long plane journey; and the almost 20 minute wait at the medical facility. Was it worth it?

Sharon is a member of our group of over
50 mothers whose children were forcibly adopted.

Her's story is the story of the vast majority of young Irish Women
who were incarcerated in relogious-run mother and baby homes or
hidden away in family homes, private nursing homes, mental hospitals
and other places where their children were taken from them.

Listen and weep. It's not in the far distant past.

This was happening right into (and perhaps beyond) the mid to late 1990's:

"If They Might Become Radicalized"
Yep.
And that word "Might" is the truly nasty aspect of this.

Well a hard year's effort went into finally getting
an opportunity to present the natural mother's
viewpoint to Irish lawmakers in committee.

This is the first time in the history of the twenty-year
scandal of forced adoptions under qasi-religious rule
that a group of natural mothers have had their voice
in the framing of new adoption information laws.

Hats off to Kathy McMahon - who played a storm and
captured the news headlines on the following day:

Privacy should not trump rights of adopted,
committee told

Thu, Nov 5, 2015, 16:38

The right of a birth mother to privacy should not be allowed to prevent
adopted children from getting access to their birth records, an Oireachtas
committee has been told.

In an emotional address to the Oireachtas Committee on Health and
Children, Kathy McMahon, founder of the Irish First Mothers’ Group,
whose eldest child was adopted in 1974, said mothers never sought
nor were offered confidentiality when their children were adopted.

“Instead, we were threatened to never contact our children again,”
she said.

The committee is examining the proposed Adoption (Information and
Tracing) Bill, which aims to allow adopted people access to their birth
records.

In order to access records, adopted people will be required to sign a
statutory declaration obliging them to respect the wishes of birth parents
in cases where they do not wish to be contacted.

A breakthrough report - as RTE Radio1 primetime features our
courageous members of Irish First Mothers speaking about returning
to Dunboyne Castle - now a hotel but once the place of their illegal
incarceration many years earlier - while unwed and pregnant.

Kathy McMahon is on at the end - sounding
very resolute and not to be messed with.
Surprise, surprise, mother**ckers!

ADOPTION BILL WILL SIGN AWAY OUR HUMAN RIGHTS
[Watch Video] https://youtu.be/y-DiY07ZlEQ

Australian mother's rights activist, Brenda Coughlan speaks with
Finta Dunne on the Irish Government's proposed Adoption Information
and Tracing Bill, published by Minister Katherine Zappone. Brenda says
that the proposed law will blackmail adopted persons into signing away
their human rights and their freedom to explore their identity.

Katherine Zappone's just-proposed Adoption Bill will invite natural mothers to legally threaten their own lost child against ever even attempting to contact them. It's a blatant attempt to try pit mothers against their own stolen children. Classic divide and conquer from cynical bureaucrats aiming to cover their own tracks of past malfeasance. #StopZappone

Well that's some more progress in our campaign to stop

Been busy with this since just after the Trump victory,

So it was essential to get some MO now... :-)
