Also in New York middle class businesses are, hopefully, uniting and refusing to close.

Remember that in the USA, thank God, folks are well armed so there is a limit to what they will tolerate from a tyrannical government.

Here in the communist dictatorship known as Spain one learns to survive in the "mandatory mask everywhere even outside" situation.
"Constitutionally-guaranteed human rights"? They never heard of them!

I wear it only when forced to in shops or when police are nearby/ and I use a safety pin to punch dozens of little air holes in my mask.

Once upon a time, we sat in a cave scared to go out because wild animals where at large.
We mastered this fear and went about our business to stay alive.
Now the wolves are at the door, and the time has come to go meet them. It is only their howling at our door that stops us, we are many they are few.

There are more of us than there are of them!

(And thank God for the fact that folks in the USA are very well-armed)

Nothing to worry about here!

She was so joyfully ecstatic at the thought of being 'saved' that she simply passed out from the excitement of it all!

The lockdowns will continue until every single middle class business has been closed permanently. Which is the whole point in the first place.
Why do people tolerate this?!!
At least in the USA folks are well armed so there IS a limit to what they will tolerate.

This story kind of fits in here.

Quote:
In a new blog post for the International Monetary Fund, four researchers presented their findings from a working paper that examines the current relationship between finance and tech as well as its potential future. Gazing into their crystal ball, the researchers see the possibility of using the data from your browsing, search, and purchase history to create a more accurate mechanism for determining the credit rating of an individual or business. They believe that this approach could result in greater lending to borrowers who would potentially be denied by traditional financial institutions.

At its heart, the paper is trying to wrestle with the dawning notion that the institutional banking system is facing a serious threat from tech companies like Google, Facebook, and Apple. The researchers identify two key areas in which this is true: Tech companies have greater access to soft-information, and messaging platforms can take the place of the physical locations that banks rely on for meeting with customers.

No.
Looking up something on google has no relation to my ability to pay my bills on time or be approved for a loan unless I'm typing in the website to pay for my bills or apply for a loan.

This is like basing your credit score off of your phone calls in the 80s.
