Wow.

Above is the "in a nutshell" version of the theory.

Initial counterpoints:

    Solar system activity can be wholly local and does not imply a galactic threat.

    Need to see more than two stars lighting up in sequence to form conclusions.

    Items in the 12,000 year recurrence claim must all hold up
    and even if they do - it does not prove galactic threat.

    Magnetic reversals affect evolution, yes.
    But magnetic reversals are not extinction events.

    The poles are always wandering around.

Despite Ben's peer-reviewed chops and Electric (errr plasma) universe leaning (a real dark matter/energy hater), when you compare with Doug Vogt's Diehold and Paul Laviolette's Superwave, there is a lot of substance behind the claims as well as scientific rigour. His daily updates are well worth the 5 minutes out of a daily routine. Smile
