Quote:

Everyone was evil, even the children. And that had a terrible effect on
television news. Because when there weren’t any good or innocent people
to support any longer, the kind of news reporting invented in the 90′s
made no sense.

Because the news had given up reporting them as political struggles, it
meant there was now no way to understand why these terrible events
were happening.

And instead, political conflicts around the world — from Darfur to Gaza —
are now portrayed to us as simple illustrations of the mindless cruelty of
the human race, about which nothing can be done… and to which the only
response is ‘Oh Dear’.

It’s like living in the mind of a depressed hippie.”

brilliant!!

Bob Geldof is the archetypal depressed hippie,
the weary radical who jus cant be arsed to really care,
He was always and still is a fame hungry social climbing PSEUDO-PUNK.

His original guitarist and songwriting partner of the RATS
recently wrote his memoirs and told of how even back then
he saw Geldof transform in to a celebrity creeping beast. Geldof was
washed up completely until his zealous Band Aid farce.

I have been told by a 100% reliable source(cousin) that Paula Yates
use to refer to Band Aid as LIE AID. Says it all really, also the
way he manipulated the media into thinking he was the victim
in Paula Yates leaving him for Hutchence was vile, he milked that
for all its worth, he's one savvy operator, it was well known he was
a total lecher himself.

I met him once, hes an arrogant stuck-up WANKER who takes
great pleasure in berating his own country. He's intensely disliked by
many people in Ireland especially my parents generation who could spot
his supercilious self importance a mile off. Unfortunately many of my generation and after have been so brainwashed by all that charity propaganda he is still seen as an important figure.

Laughing Laughing Laughing

I past him once in Gatwick Airport (I think it was) and would have passed him by completely without noticing him at all (the ultimate crime) if it wasn't for the weird way he was acting - demanding to be noticed!

I thought 'who is this complete wanker, walking so weirdly, with the stupid hat'?
... 'Oh, it's that complete wanker Bob Geldof'!
... and then I took great delight in totally ignoring him! Laughing

Oh dear, Poor Bob!

Yep, and without Establishment backing Sir B. would be just
another egotistical self-sentered, self-promoting rock rogue.

Curiously, his old man was inoffensive enough and a
reasonably decent sort, so he didn't get it from him.

Only encountered BG once and he was a pushy little
scammer, literally. He tried to threaten and bluster to get
an unfair share of a gig gate take. He lost that encounter
because luckily I still had gig security on hand to toss
the jerk's ass out.

Speaking of which, I just found out that Geldof's old man
Bob Geldof Senior passed away in the last few days.

http://www.independent.ie/national-news/geldof-says-a-final-goodbye-to-an-extraordinary-father-2319439.html

Geldof gave a 37 minute church eulogy about his father.
I'll refrain from comment on the length of that.

I guess it takes a certain type to know a certain type:

Quote:

Bob Geldof associates the Beatles with urine

http://www.monstersandcritics.com/people/news/article_1581493.php/Bob-Geldof-associates-the-Beatles-with-urine

Sir Bob Geldof feels squeamish every time he thinks of the Beatles as he associates them with urine.

The 58-year-old is not the biggest fan of the legendary band because he thinks of pee when he hears their music after witnessing excited girls soiling themselves when they saw the Fab Four at a gig in the 60s.

The anti-poverty campaigner told Q magazine: 'It was a case of watching females in excelsis.

'The girls were p**ing themselves with excitement so I associate their music with the smell of urine.'
