Gasoline from Thin Air?
Discovery.com
Aug 5, 2010 - An enzyme found in the roots of soybeans could be the key to cars that run on air. Vanadium nitrogenase, an enzyme that normally produces ammonia from nitrogen gas, can also convert carbon monoxide (CO), a common industrial byproduct, into propane, the blue-flamed gas found on stoves across America. _________________ The beginning of wisdom is to call things by their right names.

Gasoline from water, CO2 and sunlight
PhysOrg.com™
January 4, 2010 - 'A research team from ETH Zurich, PSI, and Caltech demonstrates the stable, efficient and rapid generation of solar fuels. They apply a thermochemical cycle based on ceria redox reactions to thermochemically split water and CO2 using a novel solar cavity-receiver reactor under concentrated solar radiation. Their remarkable findings are reported in the latest issue of Science.'
