Conclusive Video of Basij firing on protesters with live rounds.

Quote:

P.S. News out since the AlJazeera broadcast above:
66 of the arrested Professors have been released

Quote:

Quote:
--A group of mourners went to Neda Agha-Soltan's grave today but were turned back by riot police, plain clothes cops and basiji
militiamen. They detained people who were carrying green signs or refused an order to disperse.

--This afternoon security forces, including soldiers, uniformed police and plainclothes militiamen, massed in Daneshju (university
student) Park, to meet protesters at Vali-asr square.

Quote:
--An email is being circulated written by a doctor from Rasul Akram
hospital in Tehran who says that some people were killed not only by one bullet as they found two or three bullets in some bodies,
close to one another, showing that shooters used barrage shooting against people and not only a single shot.

A 68 year old man had 3 bullets in his body, two on his left shoulder and one in the left side of his stomach. The doctors of the
Rasul Akram hospital say they had been faced with 38 people killed during last weeks protests. Apparently, police took the corpse
of the dead bodies out from the hospital and carried them away by truck.
Most of their families still do not know if their
children have been killed. Besides, among the corpse there were some 15, 16 years old kids.

According to the email, the crew of the hospital protested in the street next to the hospital giving out the information about
the violence to the people.

The Iranian ambassador was on CNN claiming the CIA killed Neda:

Quote:
BLITZER: Are you seriously accusing the CIA of killing Nada?

GHADIRI (through translator): We say that the bullet that was found in her head was not a bullet that you could find in Iran.
These are the bullets that the CIA and terrorist groups use. Of course they warned that there would be a bloodshed in these
demonstrations and then they could attribute that to the Islamic republic. This is part of a common act of CIA in various countries.

BLITZER: Do you really believe that, Mr. Ambassador? You're a distinguished diplomat representing Iran. This is a very serious
accusation that you're making, that the CIA was responsible for killing this beautiful, young woman.

GHADIRI (through translator): I'm not saying that the CIA had done this. There are different groups. Could be intelligence
services, could be CIA, could be the terrorists. However, these are the people who do these things.

Quote:
--Things have been 'relatively' quiet in Iran because around one and a half million students were sitting the annual
university entrance exam.

Militiamen and police stood nearby, and it was difficult for

during the protests Saturday over Irans disputed presidential
election.

Basij Truck Drives Through Crowd
This short video shows a large crowd of Iranians gathered in a public area. The scene seems quite calm until the last few seconds
when a truck - supposedly driven by members of the Basij - revs its engine and starts to drive right through the crowd. You can hear
screaming as the camera loses focus and the video ends.

Vigil for Murdered Students

Outside of Tehran University where 5 students were brutally murdered by the basij and countless other horrors took place, people hold
an illegal candlelight vigil. There is a voice of a man in the background warning the people that they will get caught, but no one
seems to care. Also, pay attention to all the camera phones documenting the event. If the vigil doesn't make you sad, that should
because that is the only connection they have now to the outside world.

This is as close to the mosque as some people could get. Similar scenes in other approach streeets, so the crowd estimates of 50,000 look valid. Better estimate later.

Mehdi Karoubi, Morteza Malekian, Faezeh Hashemi & Effat Mar'eshi (Rafsanjani's wife) were reported among protesters today.

Mousavi could not attend but spoke to the crowd through a cellphone and then via a loudspeaker.

Former President Hashemi Rafsanjani has finally come out with his first significant post-election statement: posted online (in Farsi) by the Islamic State News Agency.

He called for "elaborate processing of legal complaints in cooperation with candidates". He has also praised the Supreme Leader for extending the deadline for filing of complaints.

But he criticized "mysterious agents" who tried to create discord, but said that the majority of demonstrators, when cognisant of those conspiracies, had been "neutral".

It's a middle ground statement. Kicking to touch really.
Disappointingly insubstantive and lacking teeth.
He's playing politics. Mostly Regime politics.

More Video from today's rally.

This shows Mehdi Karroubi, the reformist presidential candidate,
now allied with Mosuavi, marching along with the crowd:

Quote:

In this video, riot police and basiji on motorcycles swarm a handful of protesters. One demonstrator, whose face is blooded, is shown being pushed along the street; at one point, a police officer wearing a helmet headbutts the man.

Dramatic Developments in Tehran

After earlier today having extended the period for investigation of the election outcome (which should have postponed confirmation of Ahmadinejad as victor), Iran's election body has done an about face and officially announced that Ahmadinejad won!

Iran's Guardian Council confirms vote results

Mon, 29 Jun 2009 17:12:18 GMT

After the conclusion of the partial vote recount, Iran's electoral watchdog, the Guardian Council has confirmed the result of the June 12 poll.

After the announcement of the result of Iran's presidential election, which saw President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad re-elected to a second four-year term, provoked major protests in the country, the Guardian Council set up a special committee to do a partial vote recount.

Iran's top legislative body confirmed that the recount of 10 percent of the ballot boxes carried out on Monday had shown no irregularities in the vote.

People have reacted angrily, taking to the streets, where clashes with security forces are already taking place.

Quote:
Iranian police were out in force across the capital Tehran on Monday as the authorities upheld the official results of this month's fiercely-disputed presidential election over opposition protests.

# Witnesses said hundreds of policemen and Basij militiamen carrying sticks were deployed in Tehran's main public squares to prevent any recurrence of the opposition protests over the conduct of the election that have broken out since the June 12 poll.

# On Parkway right now people are beeping their horns, and basij has responded by smashing their windscreens and slashing their tires

# People had announced that they will form a human chain from Tajrish sq to Railway Today

# The cellphones are down in Valieasr street and surronding area.

# Police and plain clothes forces are settled across the Valiasr street to disallow the protesters to make a human-chain.

# Daneshju Park is full of Basij and special gaurds and militia forces are being organized in the park for dealing with the possible protest or human chain.

# Students of Science and Technology university put a photo of martyr Kianoosh Asa on the university's academic staff board..

ROTFLMAO!! Laughing Laughing Laughing

Iranian State TV reports:

Quote:

Ahmadinejad votes surge after partial re-count

Tue, 30 Jun 2009 01:07:56 GMT

A random re-count of 10 percent of votes cast in Iran's June 12 elections results in a slight increase of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's votes in some cities.

After ballot boxes were randomly chosen and re-counted in the presence of the Guardian Council, interior ministry and district governor representatives, Ahmadinejad's votes increased in the province of Kerman, Fars news reported on Monday.

The incumbent president's tally also rose by 12 votes in Jirof, after 17 of the 170 ballot boxes in the southeastern city were re-counted, according to Fars news.

The report added that the re-count in Jiroft resulted in five votes being deducted from runner up Mir-Hossein Mousavi and one vote being deducted form Mehdi Karroubi, while Mohsen Rezaei's ballots increased by three votes.

However, the changes in the tally were announced as being 'too small' to be deemed decisive in the outcome of the election.

http://www.presstv.ir/detail.aspx?id=99387&sectionid=351020101

Suuuure......

His vote Surged.
But only by 12 votes in one case.
So it's all too small to make any difference.

Isn't that a contradiction??

may have been forced to issue a “confession”. (Report next post)

# Almost no information has moved via Internet and personal sources, today and there is nothing on news sites beyond the Guardian Council’s statement from yesterday.

# Reports that streets in Tehran are quiet, but a heavy security presence remains.

# An Iranian source says Tehran University students joined the mothers of detainees to protest outside Evin Prison yesterday. It seems that Evin is now full and detainees are being held in football stadiums.

# Press TV is saying nothing about the detentions.

# Around 2000 people have been detained according to estimates.

Newsweek journalist reportedly
"confesses" to aiding protests.

State-backed outlet Fars is stating that imprisoned
Newsweek reporter Maziar Bahari has "confessed"
to "lying" and helping the demonstrations.

Rough translation:

Quote:

Recent events are a classic and defeated example of a color revolution,
the colleague/cooperator of the American and the British Media said
.

The movement believing in a color revolution always announces itself a winner in every election and emphasizes that whatever happens except for the victory of this movement is a sign of fraud, and the Western media supporting the movement try to induce this idea as reality to the people.

According to Fars news political reporter, Maziyar Bahari, the 42 year old Britain's Channel 4 correspondent who also works with BBC and is currently the official representative of the American weekly magazine, Newsweek, in Iran, has sent out one-sided and untrue reports to his respective media during the recent election developments. As he admits, because of neglecting the components of true and fast reportage, he was effected by the atmosphere and avarice.......
