Hombre, I hate to be so disappointing to you, but I'm staying above water with arguments about particulars, and so far every picure you've posted for me has confirmed my worst suspicions about your bad judgement. Maybe you can tell me why this one is an exception:
Now, apart from many lengths of electrical cord (or it is hose?) I do see some rebar partially imbedded in some concrete in the lower left-hand portion of the picture, but to me the concrete looks too thick, and the color doesn't match the bright hue we were mostly seeing squooshed out of the towers during the collapses. Lower portions of the towers contained reinforced structural concrete, btw.
If you're so inclined to convince me, and determined enough to post a picture, why dont' you tell me what you're seeing? Where do you see rebar in what you'd call flooring? Again, as I mentioned before, there were at least two floors in each tower with a heavier grade of concrete. Maybe that's what you've spotted?
At any rate I don't see any rebar associated with anything I'd call four-inch lightweight concrete, not that much of it would have lasted to that point. Think of all the force impacting this material. Do you really think a material that shatters so easily would have much of a chance in that sort of environment? |

Looking at the lump of material in the center foreground just below the guy who's hunching forward. Difficult to know what we're seeing in this picture, perhaps even more than in yours, but I'm seeing what could be a section of thin concrete that seems to have a slight bend to it, suggesting the possibility of thin rebar reinforcements. ????
Regardless, I'm not sure if the metal chords/cables from the floor trusses could easily be distinguish from any rebar that could have been used to reinforce the lightweight concrete. From my readings I'm still getting mixed signals on whether rebar would have been used in the lightweight flooring in the towers, though it was definately used in buildings of similar construction where the flooring was laid somewhat differently overall. |
