The Southern African
Tuesday, 14 August 2007

TORONTO – Does HIV/AIDS really exist, is a question that a majority in the world would consider redundant. But there are people who still think and argue that HIV/AIDS is a mind-play by western experts who have targeted Africa as a dumping ground for toxic chemicals given out freely or cheaply to Africans as medicine.

The argument that AIDS does not exist was made popular by South African president, Thabo Mbeki a few years ago when he said what Africa suffers from is chronic hunger, not some fancy disease.

The South African leader is now quiet on that issue, perhaps now acknowledging the impact of the disease that is affecting 5,5 million of his fellow countrymen.

However, there are still others advancing the “AIDS does not exist” cause. One of them is Hannilie Zulu, a Zambian now resident in Denmark.

Zulu’s views could be taken seriously because she is no lightweight loud mouth. She is the founder of AfriDAD a non governmental organisation that focuses on Debt, Aid and Development in Africa.

She studied international economies, has authored more than 400 articles on the world economy and how it affects Africa. She is the author of 11 books which include: "Negotiating Blood" a book about the world economy, 'The mother of the Matrix' the most oppressed and controversial case of the century, The Evacuation and others.

Hannilie is about to launch her new book on HIV and AIDS titled: "Telling AIDS Stamped Relatives They Are Not Ill and Becoming Eternal Enemies with Them" and that book is the reason African Perspective, a Toronto-based radio programme had her as a guest on Tuesday.

Interviewed by hosts, Kuthula Matshazi and Shadya Yasin, Zulu spoke very articulately of how she had done research proving that chances of people contracting AIDS are actually less than one percent.

In any case, she said, the so-called HIV/AIDS symptoms being seen in Africa are nothing more than symptoms of chronic hunger and malnutrition.

Zulu said it should be known that HIV/AIDS testing kits that are used in Africa and elsewhere do not actually test for the virus.

“They test for anti-bodies which are always present when one is ill (of anything),” she argued adding that the so-called HIV virus is nothing more than regular impurities in people’s bodies.

Zulu said AIDS drugs like the AZT and ARVs are just toxic chemicals that pharmaceutical companies in the western are dumping on Africans because they have no where else to dispose of them.

An old argument, but could there be some truth in it?
