I'm reminded of a short poem from the post-Watergate era, which I believe was from National Lampoon (because it was my main read back then):
The caper's been outed,
The die has been cast,
A Ford in your future,
A Dick up your past.

Do we have any honor bestowed posthumously similar to canonizing a saint by the Holy See?
Saints are canonized only long AFTER they have passed on...long enough (I am convinced) that the waiting period is to be sure the honor is bestowed only when they are sure the dead person kept all the secrets they were supposed to take to the grave. |

Webster Tarpley on the Gerald Ford legacy:
http://gunsandbutter.net/archives.php?si=164
So far, the only thing I have against Tarpley is that he's a member of Scholars for 9/11 Truth. His scenario of international bankers' control of government matches many of my own theories. And I love his breakdown of Watergate, particularly the "left-wing heroes", Woodward and Bernstein, and the cover-story of the "failure" of the Plumbers, who literally made 3 attempts to get caught .
Some of the George W. Bush stuff is sketchy, to say the least, although I liked his summation of Bush's role in 9/11. And I think it's a useful "lower level" wake-up for die-hard ideologues to experience.
I'm curious as to other members take on this, particularly Fintan. You may notice many more negative details that I do not.
(Props to Reprehensor for the heads up.) _________________ "No matter what happens, ever... there's ALWAYS at least one reason. And the top reason is ALWAYS money." |
