UPDATE: It seems that there may be some problems with posts which
were made just after the server migration, beng lost to the system.
This could be connected with refreshing of the DNS settings in each
user's computer. It's likely that some user's DNS were pointed at the
old forum location when the posts were made. Sorry for any problems.
Such problems should go away in the next 24hrs.

Also some new user registrations may have been lost.
If you registered in the last 24hrs. Please re-register.

Anyone got any insights on this one?

UPDATE: Server Migration Comleted. Posting OK again. -Fintan 9pmET Tuesday

NOTICE: BreakForNews is moving to a new, faster server between 3pmET Tuesday and 3amET Wednesday. Best not to post to Forum or to My.Breakfornews for the duration of the transfer. -Fintan 3pmET Tuesday

One of the posts lost was by Phil Howe, and it was a good one. He acknowledged what you said about the "take a vacation" comment. I hope you can find a way to keep him posting here. I would much rather hear from a bloke like him than from some crazy long-winded poster that completely tears into you and anyone else just wanting to exercise some free speech without being over-analysed.

I just got censored by Huffington after never having a problem there. It's an awful feeling to be censored, especially when one isn't even in China. I buy your server change theory because I didn't see any new posts here for a couple days.

Hey Fintan, there's a possible scoop for ya, the Huffster is yet another internet gatekeeper stooge hurting the progressive movement towards peace and justice.

Here's what happened.
When the site moves server it gets a new DNS.
But this DNS takes time to move out across the net.

The server move was at 9pm ET Tuesday, but the old
server was still there. If I was smart I would have disabled
the posting on the server before the move, and reenabled it
after the move. I have no access to the old server now.

I think we lost three new registrations too. Just to clear it all up. Smile

posting in this thread just to say hello and to confirm what Fintan says. I was one of the newly registered users and right at the moment when I wanted to read Phil's last post it vanished and so did my registration.
