Hmm, the business.timeonline.co.uk link does not seem to be complete.
The BBC link has spotty audio.. I canna seem to find it on google either.
Thanks for trying though .
Ahh, I found the bits I was looking for on Junkscience.org. Of course, if one quotes junkscience to a Gore-head then one will be dismissed as listening to tobacco lobbyists.. Oh well, the guardian link is there too.

In order for the film to be shown, the Government must first amend their Guidance Notes to Teachers to make clear that:
1. The Film is a political work and promotes only one side of the argument.
2. If teachers present the Film without making this plain they may be in breach of section 406 of the Education Act 1996 and guilty of political indoctrination.
3. Eleven inaccuracies have to be specifically drawn to the attention of school children.
The specified inaccuracies are:
* The film claims that melting snows on Mount Kilimanjaro evidence global warming.
The Government’s expert was forced to concede that this is not correct.
* The film suggests that evidence from ice cores proves that rising CO2 causes temperature increases over 650,000 years.
The Court found that the film was misleading: over that period the rises in CO2 lagged behind the temperature rises by 800-2000 years.
* The film uses emotive images of Hurricane Katrina and suggests that this has been caused by global warming.
The Government’s expert had to accept that it was “not possible” to attribute one-off events to global warming.
* The film shows the drying up of Lake Chad and claims that this was caused by global warming.
The Government’s expert had to accept that this was not the case.
* The film claims that a study showed that polar bears had drowned due to disappearing arctic ice.
It turned out that Mr Gore had misread the study: in fact four polar bears drowned and this was because of a particularly violent storm.
* The film threatens that global warming could stop the Gulf Stream throwing Europe into an ice age
The Claimant’s evidence was that this was a scientific impossibility.
* The film blames global warming for species losses including coral reef bleaching.
The Government could not find any evidence to support this claim.
* The film suggests that the Greenland ice covering could melt causing sea levels to rise dangerously.
The evidence is that Greenland will not melt for millennia.
* The film suggests that the Antarctic ice covering is melting
* The evidence was that it is in fact increasing. The film suggests that sea levels could rise by 7m causing the displacement of millions of people.
In fact the evidence is that sea levels are expected to rise by about 40cm over the next hundred years and that there is no such threat of massive migration.
* The film claims that rising sea levels has caused the evacuation of certain Pacific islands to New Zealand.
The Government are unable to substantiate this and the Court observed that this appears to be a false claim.

For the film to be lawfully shown in school, the court ruled, government must describe the film as a political work that promotes only one side of the argument. The court further ruled that the government must advise teachers who present the film without making its political nature plain that they may be in breach of Section 406 of the Education Act and guilty of political indoctrination. Eleven inaccuracies needed to be specifically drawn to the attention of schoolchildren.
The 11 inaccuracies that the court found are not quibbles. They represent the film's most spectacular claims about the dangers of global warming, and form the very basis of the film. Were the film to be edited to have these inaccuracies removed, in fact, vanishingly little would be left.
- The film claims that melting snows on Mount Kilimanjaro demonstrate global warming. The government's expert was forced to concede that this is not correct.
- The film suggests that evidence from ice cores proves that rising CO2 caused temperature increases over 650,000 years. The court found that the film was misleading: Over that period, the rises in CO2 lagged behind the temperature rises by 800 to 2,000 years.
- The film uses emotive images of Hurricane Katrina, which it suggests was caused by global warming. The government's expert had to accept that it was "not possible" to attribute one-off events to global warming. - The film attributes the drying up of Lake Chad to global warming. The government's expert had to accept that this was not the case.
- The film claims that a study showed that polar bears had drowned due to disappearing Arctic ice. It turned out that Gore had misread the study: In fact, four polar bears drowned because of a particularly violent storm.
- The film threatens that global warming could stop the Gulf Stream, throwing Europe into an ice age. The claimant's evidence was that this was a scientific impossibility.
- The film blames global warming for species losses, including coral reef bleaching. The government could not find any evidence to support this claim.
- The film suggests that the Greenland ice covering could melt, causing sea levels to rise dangerously. The evidence is that Greenland will not melt for millennia.
- The film suggests that the Antarctic ice covering is melting. The evidence was that it is in fact increasing.
- The film suggests that sea levels could rise by seven metres, causing the displacement of millions of people. In fact, the evidence is that sea levels are expected to rise by about 40 centimetres over the next 100 years, and that there is no such threat of massive migration.
- The film claims that rising sea levels have caused the evacuation of certain Pacific islands to New Zealand. The government was unable to substantiate this claim and the court observed that this appears to be a false claim.
The judge's final decision is expected within the week. It promises to change how and what students are taught, and to empower teachers and students alike who choose to think for themselves. In classrooms in Canada and elsewhere around the world, meanwhile, our children are not empowered to question the conventional wisdom on climate change, and teachers continue to show An Inconvenient Truth without any guidance to the children in their charge.

The Cost of Global Frauding
News Update by Staff of Senator Inhofe
The Lieberman-Warner bill will burden American families with additional energy costs and significantly harm the United States economy... CO2 cap-and-trade schemes were exposed by a recent CBO study as creating massive wealth redistribution from the poor and working class to wealthier Americans. Further, according to a MIT study released earlier this year, cap-and-trade legislation introduced earlier in the Senate this year by Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Senator Boxer (D-CA) would cost energy sector consumers an amount equal to $4,500 per American family of four. The same study found a bill sponsored by Senator Lieberman and Senator McCain (R-AZ) would cost consumers $3,500 per family of four. And a new EPA analysis shows the Lieberman - McCain bill would cost up to half a trillion dollars by 2030 and $1.3 trillion by 2050 - and that was based on assumptions designed to low-ball the number, begging the question of how high the real figure would be. _________________ Global warming is caused by oceans heating, not greenhouse gasses.

Senate Floor Speech
The Science is Turning
October 26, 2007
Excerpts:
The American people will soon be asked to support global warming cap-and-trade legislation that will be billed as a "solution" to global warming. These bills come at a time when the science is overwhelmingly taking away the basis for alarm.
An abundance of new peer-reviewed studies, analyses, and data error discoveries in the last several months has prompted scientists to declare that fear of catastrophic man-made global warming "bites the dust" and the scientific underpinnings for alarm are "falling apart."
We are currently witnessing an international awakening of scientists who are speaking out in opposition to former Vice President Al Gore, the United Nations, the Hollywood elitists and the media-driven "consensus" on man-made global warming.
We have witnessed Antarctic ice GROW to record levels since satellite monitoring began in the 1970's. We have witnessed NASA temperature data errors that have made 1934 -- not 1998 -- the hottest year on record in the U.S. We have seen global averages temperatures flat line since 1998 and the Southern Hemisphere cool in recent years.
These new developments in just the last six months are but a sample of the new information coming out that continues to debunk climate alarm.
........
Greenland has COOLED since the 1940's!
In fact, current temperatures in Greenland -- a poster boy for climate alarmists - are COOLER than the temperatures there in the 1930s and 1940s, according to multiple peer-reviewed studies.
Yes, you heard me correctly. Greenland has COOLED since the 1940s! A fact the media and global warming activists conceal.
Greenland reached its highest temperatures in 1941, according to a peer-reviewed study published in the June 2006 issue of the Journal of Geophysical Research. And, keep in mind that 80% of man-made CO2 came AFTER these high temperatures.
........
Antarctica Ice GROWS to Record Levels
For more evidence that the Earth's current climate is not changing in an alarming manner, you need to look no further than the South Pole.
Scientists monitoring ice in Antarctica reported on October 1 that the ice has GROWN to record levels since 1979 satellite monitoring began. The ice record was announced on the University of Illinois Polar Research Group website.
"The Southern Hemisphere sea ice area has broken the previous maximum of 16.03 million square kilometers and is currently at 16.26 million square kilometers."
.........
Southern Hemisphere COOLING
The Southern Hemisphere is COOLING, according to UN scientist Dr. Madhav L. Khandekar, a retired Environment Canada scientist and an expert IPCC reviewer in 2007.
Dr. Khandekar explained on August 6, 2007:
"In the Southern Hemisphere, the land-area mean temperature has slowly but surely declined in the last few years. The city of Buenos Aires in Argentina received several centimeters of snowfall in early July, and the last time it snowed in Buenos Aires was in 1918! Most of Australia experienced one of its coldest months of June this year. Several other locations in the Southern Hemisphere have experienced lower temperatures in the last few years. Further, the sea surface temperatures over world oceans are slowly declining since mid-1998, according to a recent world-wide analysis of ocean surface temperatures."
........
Global warming has stopped
It is important to point out that the phase of global warming that started in 1979 has itself been halted since 1998.
You can almost hear my critics skeptical of that assertion. Well, it turns out not to be an assertion, but an irrefutable fact, according to the temperature data the UN relies on.
Paleoclimate scientist Dr. Bob Carter, who has testified before the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment & Public Works, noted on June 18 of this year:
"The accepted global average temperature statistics used by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) show that no ground-based warming has occurred since 1998. Oddly, this eight-year-long temperature stability has occurred despite an increase over the same period of 15 parts per million (or 4 per cent) in atmospheric CO2. Second, lower atmosphere satellite-based temperature measurements, if corrected for non-greenhouse influences such as El Nino events and large volcanic eruptions, show little if any global warming since 1979, a period over which atmospheric CO2 has increased by 55 parts per million (17 %)."

The speech is by Senator Inhofe. One's Gore-following friends have already written him off as a patsy for the oil industry, so you need not bother pointing them to the webpage.
Good points nonetheless. _________________ There are souls in the boots

I recall in the 70's that there was consensus that with falling global temperatures, we were headed into the next ice age......
One of the key areas of concern is still the north atlantic thermohaline conveyor. Even is north pole sea ice melting is localized (globally), it is the resultant cold fresh water that will disrupt the gulf stream flow. Once this occurs, Europe will cool off dramatically and those polar ice caps will become european ice caps......and that is not a new type of summer coffee drink _________________ The grand design, reflected in the face of Chaos. |

ERROR 3
Thermohaline circulation “stopping”
Gore says “global warming” may shut down the thermohaline circulation in the oceans, which he calls the “ocean conveyor,” plunging Europe into an ice age. It will not. A paper published in 2006 says: “Analyses of ocean observations and model simulations suggest that changes in the thermohaline circulation during the last century are likely the result of natural multidecadal climate variability. Indications of a sustained thermohaline circulation weakening are not seen during the last few decades. Instead, a strengthening since the 1980s is observed.” Ms. Kreider, for Mr. Gore, says that “multiple scientists” have claimed that we cannot exclude the possibility of the disruption or shutdown of the Conveyor. Disruption, perhaps: shutdown, no. It is now near-universally accepted that the thermohaline circulation cannot be and will not be shut down by “global warming,” and the film should have been corrected to reflect the consensus.

Gulf Stream - Nine.
One of the problems with the way global warming is hyped is the lack of basic logic and common sense. You can't get an ice age on one continent and heating on another. An ice age is a total cool-down of the planet. This is why scientists are now saying that even a disappearance of the "Gulf stream" in the Atlantic will not create an ice age. It would cool down Europe, but that would reduce the global warming. And then the Gulf Stream would start back up again. Ice ages are caused by other things.
How do you get both floods and droughts out of carbon dioxide? You change the terminology to "climate change." This means the carbon creates the droughts, and the oxygen creates the floods. Since it does two things, they call it CO2. If you don't believe that, it's because you promote big oil and big tobacco, and you refuse to look at the science of the subject. The IPCC said so; and it's peer reviewed science. _________________ Global warming is caused by oceans heating, not greenhouse gasses.

The Stephan-Boltzmann Constant
Another absurdity is the Stephan-Boltzmann constant. It supposedly shows how much infrared radiation is emitted from objects at any particular temperature. But it shows a ridiculously high number.
The Stephan-Boltzmann constant is this:
5.67051 x 10-8 ÷ K-4
This result is the number of watts per square meter of infrared radiation supposedly given off by matter at a temperature represented by K (degrees Kelvin). Emissivity must also be considered, but it is about 90-95% for most nonmetalic surfaces.
At a normal temperature of 27°C (80°F), the calculated result without emissivity is 459 W/m2.
On a hot day of 37°C (98°F), it's 524 W/m2.
It isn't happening. Normal temperature matter is not giving off that much infrared radiation. Virtually everything in physics is in error, unless someone gets the error corrected, which requires a lot more accountability than often exists.
I don't know how climatologists use the Stephan-Boltzmann constant in determining how much radiation is given off by the surface of the earth, but they show ridiculously high numbers, and it varies a lot from one estimate to another.

The Supreme Court said so
Think peak oil and wars, because the Supreme Court said carbon dioxide is a pollutant. The Supreme Court decision is now the basis for coal plants being shut down.
----------
Washington Post Article
Excerpt: The Kansas Department of Health and Environment yesterday became the first government agency in the United States to cite carbon dioxide emissions as the reason for rejecting an air permit for a proposed coal-fired electricity generating plant, saying that the greenhouse gas threatens public health and the environment. The decision marks a victory for environmental groups that are fighting proposals for new coal-fired plants around the country. It may be the first of a series of similar state actions inspired by a Supreme Court decision in April that asserted that greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide should be considered pollutants under the Clean Air Act.
--------
Why then allow oil and natural gas to pollute the atmosphere? Foreign oil and liquefied natural gas are replacing coal. LNG also produces carbon dioxide and has to be shipped from foreign countries in super cold tanks, which is extremely expensive. Expense means carbon dioxide. There is carbon dioxide produced from every dollar spent.
Supposedly, renewable energy sources will replace coal. But they are dead in the water, while coal plants are disappearing fast. Because of the unrealistic nature of renewable energy sources, oil and natural gas are replacing coal by default.
Nazism didn't have a philosophy; it used pseudo science to justify perverse values. Nazism is here. The energy pseudo science is no more real than creating the Arian race was. It is the pretext for global domination by a totalitarian government.

Dec. 13, 2007
His Excellency Ban Ki-Moon
Secretary-General, United Nations
New York, N.Y.
Dear Mr. Secretary-General,
Re: UN climate conference taking the World in entirely the wrong direction
It is not possible to stop climate change, a natural phenomenon that has affected humanity through the ages. Geological, archaeological, oral and written histories all attest to the dramatic challenges posed to past societies from unanticipated changes in temperature, precipitation, winds and other climatic variables. We therefore need to equip nations to become resilient to the full range of these natural phenomena by promoting economic growth and wealth generation.
The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has issued increasingly alarming conclusions about the climatic influences of human-produced carbon dioxide (CO2), a non-polluting gas that is essential to plant photosynthesis. While we understand the evidence that has led them to view CO2 emissions as harmful, the IPCC's conclusions are quite inadequate as justification for implementing policies that will markedly diminish future prosperity. In particular, it is not established that it is possible to significantly alter global climate through cuts in human greenhouse gas emissions. On top of which, because attempts to cut emissions will slow development, the current UN approach of CO2 reduction is likely to increase human suffering from future climate change rather than to decrease it.
The IPCC Summaries for Policy Makers are the most widely read IPCC reports amongst politicians and non-scientists and are the basis for most climate change policy formulation. Yet these Summaries are prepared by a relatively small core writing team with the final drafts approved line-by-line by *government *representatives. The great *majority of IPCC contributors and *reviewers, and the tens of thousands of other scientists who are qualified to comment on these matters, are not involved in the preparation of these documents. The summaries therefore cannot properly be represented as a consensus view among experts.
Contrary to the impression left by the IPCC Summary reports:
z Recent observations of phenomena such as glacial retreats, sea-level rise and the migration of temperature-sensitive species are not evidence for abnormal climate change, for none of these changes has been shown to lie outside the bounds of known natural variability.
z The average rate of warming of 0.1 to 0. 2 degrees Celsius per decade recorded by satellites during the late 20th century falls within known natural rates of warming and cooling over the last 10,000 years.
z Leading scientists, including some senior IPCC representatives, acknowledge that today's computer models cannot predict climate. Consistent with this, and despite computer projections of temperature rises, there has been no net global warming since 1998. That the current temperature plateau follows a late 20th-century period of warming is consistent with the continuation today of natural multi-decadal or millennial climate cycling.
In stark contrast to the often repeated assertion that the science of climate change is "settled," significant new peer-reviewed research has cast even more doubt on the hypothesis of dangerous human-caused global warming. But because IPCC working groups were generally instructed (see http://ipcc-wg1.ucar.edu/wg1/docs/wg...2006-08-14.pdf) to consider work published only through May, 2005, these important findings are not included in their reports; i.e., the IPCC assessment reports are already materially outdated.
The UN climate conference in Bali has been planned to take the world along a path of severe CO2 restrictions, ignoring the lessons apparent from the failure of the Kyoto Protocol, the chaotic nature of the European CO2 trading market, and the ineffectiveness of other costly initiatives to curb greenhouse gas emissions. Balanced cost/benefit analyses provide no support for the introduction of global measures to cap and reduce energy consumption for the purpose of restricting CO2 emissions. Furthermore, it is irrational to apply the "precautionary principle" because many scientists recognize that both climatic coolings and warmings are realistic possibilities over the medium-term future.
The current UN focus on "fighting climate change," as illustrated in the Nov. 27 UN Development Programme's Human Development Report, is distracting governments from adapting to the threat of inevitable natural climate changes, whatever forms they may take. National and international planning for such changes is needed, with a focus on helping our most vulnerable citizens adapt to conditions that lie ahead. Attempts to prevent global climate change from occurring are ultimately futile, and constitute a tragic misallocation of resources that would be better spent on humanity's real and pressing problems.

| Quote: | Freedom, Not Climate, is Under Threat - Czech Leader
GERMANY: December 11, 2007
BERLIN - The movement against global warming has turned into a new religion, an ideology that threatens to undermine freedom and the world's economic and social order, Czech President Vaclav Klaus said on Monday.
Klaus was speaking to reporters at the launch of the German translation of his new book, a sceptical look at the worldwide campaign to stop climate change entitled "Blue Planet in Green Chains: What Is Under Threat -- Climate or Freedom?".
"My answer to that question is unambiguous," said Klaus. "Freedom is under threat.
"Also (threatened) is the prevailing social and economic order, contemporary civilisation, the current prosperity of developed countries and the chances of developing countries to achieve a similar level of prosperity."
He said the climate change movement was not based on science and that theories about man-made global warming could not be proven.
"It has become a new religion or new ideology and in that sense I think it's justified to compare it with other ideologies," Klaus said.
Klaus, an economist and former Czech prime minister who championed the free market, is one of the world's most vocal climate-change sceptics. On Sept. 24 he gave a speech to the UN General Assembly expressing doubts whether climate change was man-made. Several diplomats said the UN speech irritated some small island nations and may have cost Prague a hotly contested seat on the UN Security Council.
Klaus said the climate was constantly changing and current developments were no exception. There was no scientific consensus on what caused climate change, although mankind is playing a marginal role.
He added that any likely changes to the climate "in the relevant future" would not threaten the human race.
Greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, produced by burning fossil fuels, trap heat in the atmosphere. Scientists say that if emissions are not curbed, sea levels will rise while drought and floods will become more frequent.
A UN meeting in Bali running to Dec. 14 is seeking to launch talks on a new pact to slow climate change but is split about whether to include guidelines such as a mandatory cut in greenhouse gas emissions by rich nations.
Klaus said the timing of his book launch was a coincidence.
He was asked if there would be a copy of the book for US President George W. Bush, whose government is fighting in Bali against hard targets for cutting greenhouse gases.
"He already has one," said Klaus. (Editing by Matthew Tostevin)

Czech leader raises new doubts on climate change
Sun Nov 11, 2007 7:11am EST
By Erik Kirschbaum
BERLIN, Nov 11 (Reuters) - Czech President Vaclav Klaus has criticised Chancellor Angela Merkel for her efforts to fight climate change, saying politicians, journalists and scientists are exploiting an unproven issue for their own advantage.
In an interview to be published in WirtschaftsWoche business magazine in Germany on Monday, Klaus said many world leaders had privately congratulated him for doubting whether climate change was man-made in a Sept. 24 speech to a U.N. conference.
"The unfair and irrational debate about global warming really annoys me," said Klaus, a leading climate change sceptic.
"The issue is increasingly turning into the fundamental ideological conflict of our times. The climate protection movement represents a new ideology."
Ahead of a U.N. climate panel meeting starting on Monday, Klaus compared it to the East-West conflict of the Cold War.
He said he was surprised Merkel, a physicist who grew up in communist East Germany, would fall for such an idea without making a "critical examination of a controversial hypothesis". Merkel has taken a leading role in fighting climate change.
"She's lived in a socialist society and she knows the dangers of ideologies that are aimed against freedom," said Klaus, whose Sept. 24 climate conference speech may also have hurt the Czech Republic's bid for a U.N. Security Council seat.
"Utopia is an excellent escape for politicians because they can busy themselves with far-away goals and don't have to worry about immediate problems," added Klaus. "Climate change is an excellent issue for that escape."
Klaus said many world leaders privately congratulated him for his sceptical remarks but he did not want to name them.
"I'm not alone," he said. "I didn't get applause for my speech at the New York climate conference. But afterwards many government leaders came to me and congratulated me. They said 'that was important, someone has to say it'. Evidently you need to be brave to speak up against climate policies."
U.N. CLIMATE PANEL MEETING
Greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, produced by burning fossil fuels, trap heat in the atmosphere. Scientists say that if emissions are not curbed, sea levels will rise while drought and floods will become more frequent.
A U.N. climate panel will meet in Valencia, Spain, on Nov. 12-17 to issue a report summing up more than 3,000 pages of findings this year that blamed humans for climate change.
Klaus told the German weekly magazine he did not doubt that global warming was happening and that humans were playing a role. But he said the decisive question was how big that role is. Klaus said it is only marginal.
"You can analyse the climate debate as a sociological trend. First, politicians have put climate protection on the agenda for self-interest and journalists then jumped aboard as freeloaders kicking up a storm with a headline-making issue," he said.
"And then come the climate researchers who want to maximise their profit by devoting themselves to an issue where the most research funds are being allocated," he said.
