To balance the scales, Vox and Milo making some good arguments to
caution against Peterson. We'll have to buy the book to see the full case.
Very interesting intro though.

Vox:
" Jordan Peterson is a line of Cocaine masquerading as a Eucharist...."
Ouch!!
Not that it's got anything to do with Vox being jealous. Not at all.
Certainly not.
So there is a lot of noise to signal in the book, like way too much digging
around in JBP's personal life and his psychodynamic struggles.
Peterson as feminist nightmare and Peterson as self-help guru is different animals.
The first is a political animal and a precise logician. He's a politician.
It's a smart and informed viewpoint.
The self help stuff grew out of the political in that it intersects with the
basics of assertion and self expression. It's not hugely different or new.
Peterson is showing that you must be an ethical humanist or atheist.
It has to do with necessity of transcending suffering for virtue's sake.
Peterson is the captain of the Titanic. He'll die noble for nobility's sake.
Vox thinks that's painting God out of the picture entirely.
That God is the explanation for suffering and the only exit.
Vox is old Testament.
A Christian who doesn't buy Jesus.
No wonder he hates Peterson _________________ Minds are like parachutes.

But he's not jealous, he said so in the first chapter and gave many reasons
why he could not be possibly be jealous, the facts are clear, Vox is smarter,
has more published works and has a better looking wife
I'm not sure how any of these arguments should mean anything, but in all
the evidence to this intro to his book, there is not much but shitting on the
character of the guy. There was a few points about scientific research
being misinterpreted, but so far these are just differences of
opinion/interpretation. Which most research results are rife with anyway.
I'm willing to give Vox the benefit of the doubt, I don't know his full
argument, I will get his book somehow . I guess it's more of the
same critique of details which are essentially subjective.

I wouldn't have thought about this angle much, but yeah Vox has some
deep issues in his thoughts on religion. Especially in terms of the all
prevailing Christian culture which he feels is clearly morally superior.
Come to think of it, Peterson has a lot of religious interpretations too,
but at least Jungian.
In most cases, Vox tows the line in academic thoughts, he has an irrational
belief in the legitimacy of the authority of yesterday and today. A real Midwit. _________________ ~"“True observation begins when devoid of set patterns, and freedom of expression occurs when one is beyond systems.”"~
Since it is World Benzodiazepine Awareness Day (July 11th), and in light of the seriousness of the public health related information it contains, I have decided to also release it here.
Brilliant research Fintan.
Just going through it now.
Heartbreaking situation.
Thank you. _________________ ~"“True observation begins when devoid of set patterns, and freedom of expression occurs when one is beyond systems.”"~
Damn, in the past I've had fluctuations between loving and hating Peterson, but I'm so glad he made it. This is beautiful, to see him doing okay. The attacks on him from the left when he went down were inhumane, and it's one of the things that made me distance myself from that crowd.
May all of us come out of our darkness stronger.
Goddamn, the tail end of the video too though.
Seemed like a fairytale back then.

When I was going to psychiatrists I was prescribed benzos and soon became addicted, consuming huge amounts of the 10mg blue Valiums.
The withdrawal was truly hell, and I think it took a couple of years for my brain to completely clear up. I had heard it is worse than heroin withdrawal/
I was talking to a friend who had gone through heroin withdrawal and she said, regarding benzos, "...That is the real 'hard stuff' "
I have returned home to Toronto after spending much of the last eighteen
months in hospitals. I am hoping that my health has improved to the point
where I can start producing original content again.
Thank you to all who are watching for your support over the course of this
trying time. I hope that you all are coping with the COVID crisis successfully.
