Hi Neil.
Let's for example take the toy chopper takeoff claim
at 3mins to 5mins into the video.
And let's use his logic to show how his thinking is in error:

By the way, if you try the merry-go-round experiment
with a large beach ball --it WILL get left behind. Why?
Because the air inside the merry-go-round is not spinning round.
The merry-go-round is open. So outside air can move thru it.
Think back to the subway experiment again - with a beach ball.
In that case you WOULD be able to toss a beach ball back and forth.
Because the air in the subway carriage is a sealed closed system.
But if you were in the first subway carriage with the front door and the
rear doors of the carriage open -- the wind would blow thru the carriage
and the beach would blow out the rear door when you tossed it.
One more point.....
He says there is no proof the atmosphere moves with the spinning earth.
Wrong. You know there are swirling patterns of high and low pressures.
What we call weather systems. They rotate. As you see in the TV forecast.
Why do they rotate like that? Go down to a river and see how large rocks
or barriers create whirlpools downstream of the rock or barrier. If the
river was stationary, there would be NO whirlpools. So whirlpools prove
the river is moving. Weather systems prove air is moving just the same.

What about the clouds in the sky
we may look up and see the same cloud hovering over our house for hours
if the planet was spinning at 1,000 mph surely the clouds would be left behind in a split second |

But unless the doors are open......it doesn't.
Because with doors closed, the air inside the
carriage is moving at the same speed as the carriage.
And the air above you is moving at the same speed as the Earth.

Personal beliefs are very hard to argue and generally not worth the trouble unless there is some criminality involved or human rights violation. But when it comes to scientific principles ... all is fair and it is important to stop the spread of this type of shit before it gets legs ...
Below, it is important to note that the space shuttle is traveling perpendicular to the launch pad ... the angular movement you see is the earth's rotation, relative to the stationary launch pad ... pure and simple.
Fintan also made several good points/observations. Good luck with the theory proposed in your posted video ...

It's also to do with your *frame of reference* - when you toss the ball in the moving train carriage, then you, your friend and the ball are all moving at the same speed, so the ball behaves just as if you were stationary on the ground.
Same with the clouds - they are also moving at the same rotational speed as the ground underneath, so can appear to be stationary.

Mmm, just watched the whole thing and I didn't find it funny, not my kind of humour really. And backed up with no quotes.
But on a serious note, Its a strange thing listening to most people who believe by the way they talk and act, that conciousness can derive from a plank of wood or human brain cells; atomic particles.
As he/they seems to be running some fake creationist website too.
When I don't think he's even got the idea of the Adam and Eve fig leaf at the beginning of the Book (Adam and Eve representing many people.) Where they (most still do) thought they were naked. I.E confused, listening to the good and bad in their thoughts not knowing they were already clothed with bodies/flesh, organic computer, atomic particles. |
