Same here, those numbers explain so much in terms of universal mechanics.
As for connecting it with astrology, I like what http://www.cosmicharmony.com/Ha/HAmain.htm has to say about spectrum's.
But what part of their theory do you believe to be flawed?

If 1.618=360° then 1=222.5° or
1:1.618 = 137.5°:222.5°
360-222.5= 137.5
And of course, when constructed, a 137.5 angle is really a reverse 42.5 angle. 
If you draw a natal chart and start from the point 0° (Aries point) then 137.5° takes one half way through the 5th house, in music a major 3rd. The other point 222.5° is almost half way through the 8th house, which is in music a perfect 5th.
It makes me wonder more about the 8th house and this mysterious 222.5° angle. In music this angle is often called the dominant cadence. Going from Dominant to Tonic can bring ultimate release of tension but going from Tonic to Dominant can bring tension.
So they're flaw is were they failed to recognize Fibonacci, 120° should be 137.5°

The fundamental mistake made by most people given a spiro-graph as a child, as they delve into sacred 'G' ... you just illustrated.
Problem is that MOST of you overlay your ideas over a 2D FLAT spiral, IGNORING the hELIcal rising which 'rises' into 3D helix. Why bother showing me a flat plant stem that grows UP ignoring the Z-axis only living in a flat world x+y?

In this theory the fine structure constant results from dividing a sphere into parallel bands of equal area and placing one node in each band at longitudes spaced by a golden section of the circle, i.e. 360°/φ ≅ 222.5°. We then subtract this from 360, the result will always be 137.5 that why it's a constant!
The fine structure constant 137 is the symmetry and geometry of spacetime formed by an interaction between electromagnetic radiation (light) and the spherical electron cloud around an atom.
This is why we have 4pi in the equation representing the shape of the wave function in three dimensional space-time. Most plants grow in spirals with a characteristic "Growth Angle" of 137.5 degrees, directly related to PHI.

MichEL GauquELin has to have a say on this golden angle of 137.5 as well, he found that the angle of 222.5 in the zodiac and Mars have a distinct relationship together and dubed it the "Mars Effect" after extensive research. The golden ratio is approximately 0.618, which is equivalent to approximately 222.5 degrees of the 360 degrees of a circle.

These additional golden ratio points measured from the rising point and setting point add two more axes: at 68.8 degrees and 111.2 degrees (and the points opposite to these). The angle of 111.2 degrees can be regarded as more closely related to the golden ratio (180 x .618) and the angle of 68.8 degrees as more closely related to the minor golden ratio (180 x .382).
To summarize, there are four golden ratio axes according to Landscheidt and these are:
