Before it was commercialized
this time of year was what it meant
peace on earth, good will t'ward men
a chance for sinners to repent.
But now it is just all about
sales and gifting, bottom lines
forget about your life and love
concentrate on the good times.
For when we leave behind our soul
difficult times are the end result
there is no peace or harmony
amongst the raging horde's tumult.
So take a step back from the edge
a really easy thing to do
don't be surprised by what you see
someone who looks a lot like you.
