Never a better time to hit up some audiobooks, just finished reading Confessions of an E.H.M by Perkins. Great read but I get the feeling he is not too up to snuff on a few major points. Glad you and Kathy are making a net recovery, hand it to the assholes who are bogarding the ISP's. |

Well, getting there, but arranging point to point wireless
internet systems in a rural area is a logistical bummer.
Hopefully a week or so will see it sorted. 
Meanwhile, sorry for delays on the audios, but having to
constantly move between different 3G isp's because we
don't want to sign up on contract with any of them --as it's
likely our previous system will be back soon....
Been some outages too with these providers --was off for
36hrs just now and only back on since lunchtime.
Persistence. Sigh.
Er... um... it builds character  Or sumptn'

My how time flies where your internet connection is in the can.
And so, after 4 months of shitty replacement 3G connections,
and 4 months of relentless grafting through the commerce and
social politics of deploying good quality, wireless-antenna broadband
in a rural area....
..Today we dotted 'i's and crossed 't's on a deal whereby a new ISP
is coming into the valley --with service starting in about a week.
The internet drought is OVER!
The droplets of data sprinkling the evening fields are the first
signs of an oncoming rainy-season-downpour of bits 'n bytes.
As the parched information gullies now swell with rushing torrents;
a downloadable digital cacophony splashing it's way.....etc...etc....
Oooops, getting carried away......... 
So would you after 4 months of net hell.
Online journalism is easier if you are online, I've found.
Since January, it's been: battling winter, data drought,
financial tightropery and a whole heap more.....
Be nice to do journalism full on again for a change.

So Finally..............
This is the first post on a new Internet connection.
It's a decent 3 down, 1 up --with good latency.
This is a Short post for such a Long battle.
Boy has this cost a lot of time
more usefully spent on BFN....
but....
