As to the in full view of everybody, I remember when Blair last summer was in person trying to convince everybody that the terrorists plots to down planes with liquids were real and serious. Or was he? In fact that kind of nonsense, and plenty of other nonsense that is being served as part of the menu of war against terrorism, is so preposterous that in order to believe it you have to not to think about it and swallow without tasting like codliver oil. It is nonsense, incredible nonsense, and it is served by none other than a prime minister. How can he put a face to that?
Here is my interpretation of it: in fact we are being told that we know he is lying and we know it is nonsense, but that we are such abject shit that we prefer to look the other way and tell ourselves that we believe it in order to continue to live where we want to live, in a make believe world. And that we will do nothing about it because we are in agreement and we will hunt down, as packs, not face to face, anything or anyone that stands between us and our makebelieve world.
Excuse the length. Summing up, he is making us his accomplices in the crime, that is why he can take off the mask without anything hapenning. |
